2025 NOTABLE EVENTS

 

The Interfaith Conference issued statements and/or its faith leaders participated in rallies and/or programs against hate and violence, including issuing a statement reiterating our condemnation of Antisemitism and all other forms of religious hatred and violence; presenting a webinar on how our faiths welcome the stranger; presenting a panel discussion on the responsibilities of faith leaders to take action at the 2025 Anti-Gun Violence Summit; and presenting on interfaith relations at local universities.

 

The Interfaith Conference’s educational programs included its Tuesdays in March program, which addressed the Wisconsin Supreme Court election, immigration, climate, and education. It also made presentations or conducted workshops on interfaith topics at the Oak Creek Sikh Temple, Christ Church Episcopal, the International Institute of Wisconsin, Rockwell Automation, and the Milwaukee Catholic Home, and presented a webinar on translating collective faith into local climate power.

 

The Interfaith Conference, as part of an 18-month 5-county program with Urban Rural Action of Wisconsin, created a list of Milwaukee County community resources that addresses food, housing, healthcare, domestic/family violence, and senior services and transportation needs, which can be accessed on its website here: https://www.interfaithconference.org/community-resources We also organized and held the first Networking Across Milwaukee open house on sharing community resources.

 

The Interfaith Conference continued its dinner dialogues, including dinners at Habitat for Humanity, Marquette University, Milwaukee Repertory Theater, and Tricklebee Café, as well as at places of worship.

 

On December 4, 2025, we held our 55th Annual Luncheon at Marquette University’s Alumni Memorial Union. The keynote speakers from Interfaith America were Katie Baxter, Abbie Haug, and Ali Khaleel; they spoke about “Meeting the Moment: Engaging a New Generation in Interfaith Leadership.” StreetLife Communities received the Rev. Herbert Huebschmann Urban Ministry Award; Sister MacCanon Brown received the Frank Zeidler Award; Rev. Arthur Ward received the Mark Rohlfing Memorial Award; and Ian Schmitt-Ernst received the Emerging Leader Award. More than 230 people attended.
